Troop 813 – Ventrua County Council, BSA
Why Join Scouting?
Scouting done the 813 way is fun – we go on outings every month: biking, hiking, backpacking, boating, snorkeling, long term camps and the list goes on. Upcoming campouts include Mountain Man Thunder, Rocketry Weekend and a Motorboat Campout. But Scouting is so much more than outings, it's about friendships and leadership; experiences and life lessons; learning skills and about people; service and values.
The thing about Scouting is that it's a life style, not an event. It becomes your second family -those Scouts and leaders that you travel with, camp with learn from all while you are having the time of your life.
There are "perks" to Scouting too – if you are up to the task of earning your Eagle Rank, you will have set yourself apart in ways that count later in life, when you are applying to colleges and universities and when you are applying for scholarships and jobs.
Most of all the Troop has fun: from helping other people to experiencing the outdoors, if you are up to the challenge, we have the program and the leadership you are looking for – check us out.
